Description of the work
Description of the work
The work is an abstract composition. "Abstract" derives from the Latin term "abstrahere," which means to extract or draw out. The process of abstraction, in fact, consists of eliminating the particular and individual aspects of an object to derive a universal concept. From Kandinsky to Mondrian, from Pollock to Mirò, many painters have pushed the process of abstraction to the limit in their works, paradoxically creating pure forms and colors that do not exist in nature, or translating their emotions and instincts into images.
In this composition, Mauro Molinari's primary reference is the historical avant-garde of abstract art, with its study of pure forms and pure colors. Think of Kandinsky's abstractions or Mondrian's Neoplasticism. In this acrylic by Mauro Molinari, perception is reshaped in a pronounced mechanomorphism that introduces, within the square, a play of modularity and refractions.
Mauro Molinari was born in Rome and lives and works in Velletri. His long artistic research is marked by diverse cycles, such as those dedicated to written painting, artist's books, the reinterpretation of ancient textile motifs, and, most recently, the narrative of figures. On these and other themes, he has produced canvases, papers, and panels, painted objects and sculptures, and large-scale installations.
