Mauro Molinari - Fragments

Mauro Molinari's work draws on several contemporary art themes that were already developed in the 1960s and 1970s, which he brings back to the forefront with a fresh new interpretation. In the aesthetic developed by Mauro Molinari, the written word is the protagonist. The artist, as in the predecessors indicated by Emilio Isgrò or Alighiero Boetti, renders the significant constituent elements of the artwork, but according to his own particular style that

In this work, too, we can see how different aesthetics and visual languages ​​overlap in Mauro Molinari's work. The written word, as usual, is a key element, and in Molinari it takes on a gestural rather than a symbolic meaning. The artist's words are clearly defined, legible words, reiterated through the repetition of the word "fragments." Thus, the force of the pictorial gesture and a certain hermeticism suggested by the repetition of these signs are more evident. The concept of Hermeticism is also explored visually through the presence of small, informal compositions.

Mauro Molinari was born in Rome and lives and works in Velletri. His long artistic research is marked by diverse cycles, such as those dedicated to written painting, artist's books, the reinterpretation of ancient textile motifs, and, most recently, the narrative of figures. On these and other themes, he has produced canvases, papers, and panels, painted objects and sculptures, and large-scale installations.
