The founding idea of ​​the total work of art in the form of a book , Michelangelo. The Learned Hand, was born from Michelangelo's sculptural work. Today, thanks to the wisdom of new modern creators of creativity and ingenuity, the Renaissance artist by definition lives again in a contemporary and, at the same time, timeless work of art; a tangible sign that the ancient ideal of factura can live again in the present as an inexhaustible testimony of civilization and beauty to be passed down to future generations. To narrate the figure of Michelangelo, Giorgio Vasari's text, taken from The Lives of the Most Excellent Painters, Sculptors, and Architects , was chosen. It paints a lively and detailed portrait of the supreme artist who, better than anyone else in Western history, embodies the profound sense of humanitas that becomes art and beauty and who, precisely through art and beauty, seeks redemption from the human condition. Printing the texts required the choice of a top-notch, modern printing house, yet deeply rooted in the tradition of a nearly six-hundred-year-old craft. The texts, in Bodoni type, were then masterfully printed by Jacopo Steffenini's Milanese printing house.
