Miro Persolja - Eyes

Miro Persolja's works draw on a variety of influences. On the one hand, he draws on the poetics of New Dadaism, through the sometimes physical presence of everyday objects repurposed for artistic purposes. Furthermore, his exploration of three-dimensionality in two-dimensional media harks back to typical Spatialist themes. All of this is reworked according to his characteristic taste for decoration.

Miro Persolja's works are always composed of multiple overlapping elements, seeking the three-dimensionality that is a hallmark of this artist. The first layer has a strong aesthetic and decorative value. This surface accommodates the actual material, which rises with all its clarity and randomness. Finally, the centrally positioned object or symbol becomes the protagonist of the work. The colors are always bright, resplendent with light.

Miro Persolja is a Slovenian painter, sculptor, and restorer born in 1948. He has lived and worked in Italy for many years. Considered an internationally renowned artist, he has traveled extensively and exhibited his work in many important cities. He participated in the 57th Venice Biennale.
