MSC - Figurative

A wonderful work, rich in emotional meaning. It features the master Calzi's faithful kitten, who often accompanied him during the countless hours spent in the art studio.
We don't have a realistic rendering of the animal, but rather an almost abstract one. The artist has played with the basic figure and created a close-up charged with emotion, which we can almost savor while admiring the painting.
The figure is made the protagonist by the saturation of the pigments, by the fluid, deliberately imprecise line, by the curlicues and highlights; the background, with its soft, hand-blended hues, is characterized by the presence of a warm midnight blue, applied with broad, well-wetted brushstrokes, so as to highlight the figure of the kitten in the foreground.
Interesting, innovative stylistic choices led the artist to create a wonderful painting, simple in form but impactful.
