Palladio - Scripta Maneant

The life and works of the great architect from the Renaissance, Mannerism, and Baroque periods, from his apprenticeship to maturity and fame. In-depth analysis of the "beautiful facade" and the relationship between villa and garden. All the buildings designed by the great architect and a final section dedicated to his legacy: the construction of churches after his teachings, Baroque and Venetian secular architecture, and Neo-Palladianism.

The drawings from the Four Books of Architecture and the 1:1 scale engravings by Ottavio Bertotti Scamozzi, the corpus of plans, sections and elevations which sometimes also show the measurements of details such as the cornices or the bases of the columns and which at the end of the eighteenth century allow a detailed understanding of Palladio's work.
