The faces exhibit absolute formal perfection, marked by a certain degree of idealization. Pietro Pantino is a painter originally from Palermo, where he was born in 1941. He creates almost exclusively genre scenes inspired by the fin-de-siècle bourgeois world or rural life. His pictorial language is also aligned with his favorite subjects, drawing inspiration from a post-impressionist style in the construction of the image. However, in his series of portraits of children, Pantino demonstrates how his pictorial conception can also be classical and traditional, supported by an impeccable formal quality.
