Landscape has always been a central theme in artistic research, both as a setting, as a backdrop, and as a subject itself. The naturalistic depiction of landscape has been a major aspiration for artists of every era. Each historical period has offered its own interpretation of landscape, contributing to the evolution of its depiction: first with an exploration of space, through Brunelleschi's perspective in the early Renaissance; then with atmospheric rendering in the sixteenth century; and finally with the depiction of every single vibration of light on objects in Impressionism.

Artist Paolo Albanese's style interprets reality with a delicate lyricism. He uses a fundamentally figurative language, but his technique transfigures everything poetically. This is due to his extremely diluted touch, which, with light and transparent washes of color, constructs objects with a remarkable sense of immediacy and freshness. Despite this softness, his brushstrokes possess a remarkable sense of structure, which enhances the subjects' plasticity.

Painter Paolo Albanese passed away in 2016 at his home in the Centocelle neighborhood of Rome. Throughout his career, he exhibited his work in several solo exhibitions at the Galleria Il Mondo dell'Arte.
