"Promenade" was created as a background; it depicts a small portion of a road, in the foreground. In the background, heavy clouds allow a glimpse of blue. The sky is punctuated by splashes of geometric color. A solitary female figure walks along the road, holding a book under one arm.
It should be noted that the figure is not painted directly onto the canvas but was painted on a separate canvas and then glued.
