Repentance of St. Thomas

The canvas depicts St. Thomas in his old age, who, after learning of the death of his lord Christ, quickly assembles a crucifix on a piece of wood and raises it to Heaven as a sign of purity and fidelity, almost repentant of
that mistake he made years ago where he put
“the finger in the wound”. He is wrapped in a cave and in his fixed gaze on the crucifix, one glimpses “Repentance”.
