"Pietro Ferrari is a highly accomplished artist," explains curator Gilberto Repetti, an art collector and close friend of the artist. He possesses a unique and unmistakable technique, and can rightfully be called the last of the Lombard Romantics, as well as an exceptional colorist." From his visions of the Val Padana to his portraits, compositions, and landscapes, "in every one of his paintings," Repetti continues, "there is a love for art, the love of an artist who converses with palette and colors in a frank, clear, and decisive language. The emotions awakened in us by observing his paintings are immediate; nothing is artificial; on the contrary, always pure and sincere, Ferrari strives to seek new horizons. He expresses his world through color, preferring new and intangible compositions that have the loving and subtle imprint of a modern poetry, as beautiful as a vase of flowers." Ferrari has won numerous awards in Italy and abroad, including the United States, France, China, Morocco, Malaysia, Argentina, the former Yugoslavia, Malta, and has received recognitions such as the title of Academician of Italy at the Tiberina Academy in Rome (1978), an Honorary Degree in Humanities at Atlanta University (1989), the International Oscar for cultural exchanges between Milan and America (1978) and the title of Knight of the Order of Malta.
