When God was a Woman

This painting depicts the Mother Goddess, creator of the world and all the planets, of day and night. The female figure embodying the Goddess is in a position of repose and contemplation, observing all she has created with a particular calm and firmness. Just as the transition from day to night is depicted in the background, so too, starting from the bottom, we see the predominance of the color green (symbolizing earth and nature) on her dress, which gradually blends with the other colors until it becomes transparent, indicating the transition from earthly to spiritual things. Finally, her nudity represents the essence and purity of the Mother Goddess, further enhanced by the crown of white flowers that frames her head.
