Description of the work
Description of the work
Flowers as a subject in themselves began to appear in still lifes, a genre that emerged in the early 17th century. Subsequently, painters, especially the Impressionists, increasingly focused on the floral world as an extraordinary opportunity to capture vibrant colors and light. Thus, flowers began to appear not only in vases, but also immersed in their natural landscape. While initially a pretext for painters to attempt a photographic reproduction of reality, with contemporary art, the subject of flowers also becomes a way of interpreting reality.
In this work, we can understand Roberto Loreti's pictorial language, open to a profound post-impressionist inspiration. The entire construction of the subject is based on color, without the need for any drawn structure. This is achieved with an extraordinary lightness of touch that renders the subject immaterial, devoid of volumetric consistency. Thus, the purity of the chromatic values and the freshness and immediacy of the synthetic brushstroke dominate Roberto Loreti's style.
Roberto Loreti was a Roman painter. His pictorial production, inspired by a synthetic and rapid Post-Impressionism, is based primarily on the exaltation of the purity of chromatic values.
