The work has a marked expressionist vocation, which tends to emphasize the expression of emotions. Expressionist art seeks to proclaim its moods to the world and flaunt them with passion. Formally, this translates into a summary rendering of the figures, through a very nervous and animated line, as well as the use of a violent color palette. These characteristics are found in the historical avant-garde movements of expressionism: Fauvism and the Die Brucke movement in Germany.

The painter Sanna, as we can see in this work, achieves a brutal synthesis of the subject, which remains tied to phenomenal reality, but in such an elaborate figuration that it approaches conceptual painting. In this work, the structure is fundamental, constructed with broad brushstrokes of color arranged on different planes, in a search for compositional and chromatic balance. However, the application is so elaborate that it transcends figuration, as we have already mentioned, and brings the work closer to an abstract expressionist language.

The painter Sanna is an artist who has developed his own signature style, based on an elaborate use of paint and color. His language, in terms of the gestural nature of his work, is similar to Abstract Expressionism.
