17th-century Italian master - Saint Andrew the Apostle

As can be seen from a careful examination of the present painting, an oil on canvas partially restored and relined probably around the 1980s, behind the figure of the Saint depicted one can see the two upper arms of an X-shaped cross; the canvas discussed here therefore represents Saint Andrew the Apostle, according to the Orthodox tradition Protocletos , the First-Called, Apostle of Jesus Christ, Saint of the Catholic and Orthodox Churches, born in Bethsaida in 6 BC, died in Patras on 30 November 60 AD.
