Saverio Terruso - Jubilee

He attended the Palermo School of Art and moved to Milan, where he studied painting at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts, where he graduated. In 1963, with a series of solo and group exhibitions throughout Italy, his artistic development began, working with artists such as Guttuso, Sassu, and Fiume. He taught painting at the Palermo Academy of Fine Arts and the Carrara Academy. In 1979, he became a professor of painting at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan. Beginning in 1985, he organized a series of exhibitions in major Brazilian cities—Rio de Janeiro, Brasilia, São Paulo, and Porto Alegre—with great success. During the same period, Terruso's painting was also appreciated in the United States, where he exhibited in 1991 in New York and Florida, and in 1992 in Santa Monica, California. A major traveling exhibition was organized in 1994 in various cities in Mexico. In 2000, a major exhibition opened at the Trigram Gallery in Hong Kong, where he was the only Western artist to do so. He was also invited to give a lecture. His artistic output is noteworthy, with his works held in the most prestigious public and private collections, both national and international. He produces graphic art with Italian art printers, his last two being printed in Palermo by Patrizio De Lollis, published by Arkadia. Terruso died on March 3, 2003.

He exhibited at the XV Venice Biennale (1976) . One of his works is preserved at the Aroldo Bonzagni Modern Art Gallery in Cento.
