Self-discovery

The work depicts a figure suspended and carried by a living current, immersed in a weave of blue, turquoise, purple, and gold hues. The water appears to breathe, pulsating with energy, a symbol of "living water," a divine origin and a metaphor for the constant flow and change of life. Heating the colors, created with acrylic pouring, with a heat gun creates three-dimensional bubbles that make the water's breathing tangible.
I think the first question we ask ourselves as observers is: is this person drowning or has he already drowned? I'll leave it up to the viewer to decide, but my initial idea was to represent life as water. The river as something special, as a source of purification or life: I was reminded of a passage in the Bible describing a land flowing with milk and honey. Life is within us; milk and honey flow through us. I was thinking of that saying, "Go with the flow."
Looking closer, we see that the person is crying, yet completely surrendering to the river. From the figure's wounded heart, golden waves radiate, spreading across the entire surface. This golden flow unites pain and creation, vulnerability and strength. The heart becomes the source of water, an image of the destiny that arises from within the human being. The human being lets himself be carried by the river of life, guided by faith and awareness, rather than resisting the current, for no one knows the future or where it is headed.
