Father Ortensio Gionfra's painting style displays great spontaneity and naturalness. His subjects are portrayed from life with a light touch that gives the work a remarkable immediacy. Father Ortensio Gionfra was born in Vignarello in 1918 and passed away in 2012. He trained at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome and then continued his studies in Paris. Upon returning to Italy, he participated in several exhibitions in various Italian cities (Rome, Milan, Turin, Bologna, Bari, Foggia, Viterbo, Rieti, Terni, Naples, Montecatini, Latina, Florence, Sassari, Cagliari, Ascoli Piceno, Brescia, and Verona).
