The painter Silvio Crespi's style is based on a perfectly naturalistic rendering of his subjects, which he achieves through a refined painting technique. However, his vision of the world is, expressively, more simplified than the sensory data. Through this simplification, Crespi's works emerge into an almost dreamlike dimension, undoubtedly poetic and spiritual given the subject matter. Silvio Crespi was born in Busto Arsizio in 1937, where he lives and works. His paintings are essentially figurative, yet he seeks to reveal a poetic and spiritual dimension even in the most realistic scenes. He does so primarily through the use of color, which, for Crespi, also has a symbolic meaning.
