Description of the work
Description of the work
Animal portraits in art have ancient origins, even appearing in primitive cave paintings. For religious reasons, various types of animals appear in the works of various ancient civilizations. It was especially in the Middle Ages, within the International Gothic style, that animal depictions became widespread as true life portraits, both within works of art and in notebooks of drawings and sketches. The presence of animals as subjects in art remained constant until the contemporary era.
As we can see in this work, the artist Spadanuda has developed a highly original aesthetic based on graphic line and color. Using a stunning technique, the subject is reconstructed using a refined, decorative black line that creates arabesques and plant motifs. In the fields defined by the artist's drawing, color is applied in a compact manner, reconstructing the subject like a polychrome mosaic.
The artist Spadanuda stands out for his original style in depicting animals. This style is characterized by elegant decorative lines and pronounced polychromy.
