Description of the work
Description of the work
The subject is taken from one of the most important works by Sandro Filipepi, known as Botticelli, the fresco entitled "The Trials of Moses," part of the cycle the Florentine artist painted on the walls of the Sistine Chapel in Rome around 1481. The detail depicted in this fragment, with the man-at-arms and the so-called "vivandiera," is located on the left side of the work. The female face has been identified as a probable portrait of Simonetta Vespucci, Botticelli's muse.
This work is part of a series created by Studio Erre Art Creation, which reproduces fresco fragments from famous works of the past. The works on offer are truly remarkable, primarily for the quality of the reproductions: the originals are perfectly replicated thanks to the extraordinary technique of the artisans who created them entirely by hand. Another important aspect is the philological significance of the restoration of the technique and materials used in fresco painting.
The fragment was created by Studio Erre Art Creation, an artists' studio specializing in the production of author's copies.
