Landscape has always been a central theme in artistic research, both as a setting, as a backdrop, and as a subject itself. The naturalistic depiction of landscape has been a constant aspiration for painters. Each historical period has offered its own interpretation of landscape, contributing to the evolution of its depiction: first with an exploration of space, through Brunelleschi's perspective in the early Renaissance; then with atmospheric rendering in the sixteenth century; and finally with the depiction of every single vibration of light on objects in Impressionism.

Tamburlini's landscape painting style is based on a dry, essential realism. The aesthetic value of his painting lies precisely in this simplicity of representation, which expresses a strong connection to the rural countryside he depicts in his work. Formally, this is expressed through a reduction of detail for a slightly abstract vision that emphasizes the exaltation of forms (the geometric construction of the farmhouse, the serial repetition of trees, the clean lines of the mountain profile). However, Tamburlini avoids excessive rigor and tempers his compositional rigour with a pictorial layering charged with atmospheric vibrations.
