Landscape has always been a central theme in artistic research, both as a setting, as a backdrop, and as a subject itself. The naturalistic depiction of landscape has been a constant aspiration for painters. Each historical period has offered its own interpretation of landscape, contributing to the evolution of its depiction: first with an exploration of space, through Brunelleschi's perspective in the early Renaissance; then with atmospheric rendering in the 16th century; up until the depiction of every single vibration of light on objects in Impressionism. The "seascape" in particular is a recurring theme among artists. First, for the lyricism implicit in views overlooking the sea or in romantic images of small harbors. Second, because the depiction of aquatic surfaces allows painters to give free rein to their chromatic flair, thanks to refined interplays of reflections and reverberations.

Teresio Pastorino's style is essentially based on a cursive brushstroke and broad strokes of color. Everything is constructed through color, which, however, does not create space through progressive tonal gradation, but rather creates strong contrasts between one area of ​​color and another. This creates a personal blend of a post-Impressionist pictorial style and a synthetic approach typical of an Expressionist culture. Even the shapes of objects, following this trend, are delineated in a minimalist manner with a certain anti-naturalistic tone.

Teresio Pastorino is an artist primarily focused on landscape painting. His highly personal training has led him to develop his own style, which straddles the Impressionist landscape tradition and a more synthetic treatment of forms inspired by Expressionism. His work is distinguished by an eclectic approach that leads him to constantly experiment with new forms of expression.
