This volume was produced for the 500th anniversary of the founding of St. Peter's Basilica. St. Peter's Basilica, located in the Vatican, is one of the largest and most important churches in the Christian world. Built between the 16th and 17th centuries, it is a masterpiece of the Renaissance and Baroque, with contributions from famous artists such as Bramante, Michelangelo, Raphael, and Bernini. The basilica stands on the site where, according to tradition, St. Peter, one of Jesus' apostles and the first pope, was buried. It is also characterized by the majestic dome created by Michelangelo and the colonnade subsequently built by Bernini. The volume is housed in an elegant wooden slipcase, preserved with extreme care. In folio, bound in fine leather with gold titles and decorations on the spine and cover. A large bronze medal (approximately 15 cm in diameter) is attached to the cover. A leather reproduction of a medal is attached to the spine.
