Valentina Saracino - Red and Blue Horse

This work is an example of the artist's work, who also creates creations on commission, customized according to the client's request. "The horse is a symbol of sacrifice and resurrection, of death and rebirth by the divinity, of transformation through suffering. In the work the meaning is linked to the horses: "placid" (blue part) and "agitated" (red part) recalling, in a single solution, those of the majestic fountain of Trevi. The geometric motifs painted between the eyes, which extend almost to the nostrils, represent some of the most significant and typical "Pintaderas" Canarias". These cultural manifestations are probably indicative of an ethnic uniformity, not so much of identity "in front of others", but of self-recognition and the creation of an "own identity". The work arises from this principle, the desire to express one's own identity.
