Description of the work
Description of the work
This work depicts a luminous atmosphere, a transcendental dimension. A background of gray, pale yellow, and light blue tones, with small vertical lines crisscrossing the painting. A red curl at the top and three horizontal lines at the bottom. The theme is infinity, silence. The absolute protagonists are light and color.
Valentino Vago's works aren't meant to represent reality, but rather to evoke emotion through the use of light and color . Vago uses fields of color, studying the interplay of light to the point where his canvases become "fields of light." Large, uniform surfaces and nuanced hues. Color isn't a medium, but a subject capable of evoking moods.
Artist Valentino Vago (1931-2018) is known for his abstract art. Born in a small town in Brianza, he sought a spirituality in his work, which drew him toward abstraction in an immaterial atmosphere. His first solo exhibition in Milan brought him recognition, and he participated in numerous art events in Italy and abroad.
