Description of the work
Description of the work
During the fractal period, the artist painted various works featuring landscapes or human subjects, incorporating the classic fractal geometric pattern, as if to indicate to the viewer that there is no separation between the observer and the observed object. But what is a fractal? It is a geometric form characterized by infinite repetition, always with the same shape but diminished in size! In nature, this characteristic can be recognized in the leaves of ferns, the Roman cauliflower, but also in tree branches, the bronchi of the lungs, the ramifications of rivers, the spirals of shells, galaxies, and so on; these are examples of self-similar forms! Essentially, anything with a geometric structure that repeats itself on different scales without changing its appearance can be defined as a fractal.
This implies the possibility that the universe is structured according to the so-called "cosmological principle" that describes itself in both the macrocosm and the microcosm!
