Description of the work
TREC – Edizioni Pregiate has published the Editio Princeps of the romance novel written in Italian by Dante, composed of prose and verse and translated throughout the world as the Divine Comedy.
Pericle Fazzini, called by Henry Moore the greatest sculptor of the century and creator, among other things, of the monumental sculpture of the "Risen Christ" in the Vatican Audience Hall, illustrated this work with 20 stunning color plates, each signed individually. The edition features a specially crafted bronze bas-relief depicting Beatrice on the cover by Maestro Ernesto Treccani. Mario Marti, one of the most renowned Dante scholars, wrote the introductory text.
The work, printed on handmade paper specially made with watermarks by Cartiere Magnani in Pescia, is printed by POLIGLOTTA VATICANA, measuring 31 x 41 cm, bound in select leather with gold lettering. A limited and numbered edition, each work is signed in colophon by Maestro Pericle Fazzini and comes in a fine wooden case.
