Description of the work
Description of the work
Ninety-nine silkscreen prints about the earthquake and its victims. Artsinergy aims to contribute to the reconstruction of the places devastated by the earthquake through art and for art, with the work of one of its artists, Walter Xausa .
Xausa's work depicts one of the places that later became symbolic of the tragedy: the Government Palace in L'Aquila after its collapse. Specifically, the work references one of the most infamous post-earthquake photographs: a shot by Alessandro Bianchi (Reuters/Boston Globe) depicting a Carabiniere walking through the rubble in front of the collapsed Government Palace.
For this portfolio of silkscreen prints, Artsinergy combines the work of a young and promising Sicilian artist, Walter Xausa, with the experience of one of the greatest Italian engravers, Giuliano Grittini of “Incisione Arte” , undoubtedly one of the most important Italian printing houses.
