Description of the work
Description of the work
The "Still Life" genre emerged in the early 17th century. It consists of compositions of inanimate subjects, most often flowers or fruit. While initially it was an opportunity for painters to attempt a photographic reproduction of reality, with contemporary art the "Still Life" also becomes a way of interpreting reality, as it did for the Cubists or Giorgio Morandi.
Even in this mixed-media work of pencil and watercolor, we can appreciate the great technical skill of painter Wlady Sacchi. His pictorial language is based on a fully objective realism, in which precision of representation combines with purity of volume. Thus, in this still life, too, the objects appear as clear forms, exalting their plastic qualities. To this end, the painter uses the elegant graphic line of the pencil. On a chromatic level, watercolor then intervenes, creating harmonious and balanced compositions with delicate washes of color.
Wlady Sacchi was born in Bottaiano di Ricengo in 1940. He trained in Milan at Giacomo Gabbiani's Accademia Libera. His painting style draws inspiration from the classical tradition of Italian painting and looks to the Renaissance. For this reason, his language can be described as objective realism. Sacchi is a painter endowed with remarkable skill, which he applies by experimenting with various techniques.
